agencies to make timely progress on investigations in order to increase public
supervision. The statement came after Mondays media reports on obscene
performances that featured scantily dressed people and were staged in
recreational venues in parts of eastern Chinas Zhejiang Province. Provincial
cultural and publicity agencies in Zhejiang on Monday night dispatched personnel
to find the venues responsible for the shows. The ministry has decided to make
cracking down on obscene performances one of the major tasks on its agenda this
year and prevent such performances from resurfacing.

trade deadline in the rearview mirror, the Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping to
continue their late season push for one of the final playoff spots in the
Eastern Conference. A key component to that effort is going to be the play of
top line forward Phil Kessel, who was named the NHLs first star of the week last
week. The 23-year old winger has been hot even longer than that, scoring seven
goals and adding four assists in his past seven games. Kessel attributes the
recent upturn in his play to the work of his linemates. "Obviously (Tyler) Bozak
and (Joffrey) Lupul have made it easy on me so far," said Kessel. "They are
playing great right now and theyre giving me a chance to score." For his part,
Lupul has been impressed with everything thing hes seen from Kessel since
joining the team in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in early February. "Hes
scored some big goals since Ive been here," said Lupul. "He skates hard, shoots
the puck and I dont know how, but right before I got here, they said he was on a
14-game goalless streak. Now Im watching him play, I think thats impossible."
Leafs head coach Ron Wilson isnt surprised by the streaky play of Kessel, hoping
to harness more of the good than the bad for the Leafs playoff chase. "As Phil
usually is, he went like this the first two or three weeks of the season," said
Wilson. " Hes an up and down player and were trying to find ways to keep him
more up right now, but hes not plaaying any different than he did the first
month of the season.
AuthenticTroy Polamalu Jersey. Now hes found
his game and hes confident." Lupul wants to see more of the same from his
partner on the Leafs top line. "Right now, hes got a lot of confidence and were
confident in him when we need that big goal or big play." The other big piece of
the puzzle is goaltender James Reimer, who was forced to pull himself out of the
Leafs 3-2 overtime loss to the Atlanta Thrashers on Sunday after taking a blow
to the head. Reimer left the game after first trying to play through what
turned out to be whiplash, but at the time, he feared could be a concussion.
"After the play happened, the hit to the head and whipping my neck a bit, I had
some headaches and pressure in my head," said Reimer. "They were similar
symptoms to a concussion and so we were waiting to see if they would go away and
they didnt. We thought if it is a concussion, you dont want to take another puck
to the head. I came out just for precautionary reasons." As far as hes
concerned, hes ready to go back in next game. "If called upon, I should be ready
to go." Wilson also expects to be able to go back to his starting netminder for
Wednesdays contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins and many more beyond that
game. "Reimer looks like hes fine to play and probably all things being equal,
its going to be his ball the rest of the way as long as we stay in the race and
I think hes up to it." ' ' '
